I cannot find the words to speak
My heart fails…cause my faith is weak
And now I cannot find a path
Through the dark of evil’s wrath
My spark…my inner light it flickers
And my companions hide their smirks and snickers
And call themselves my friends, while behind my back
They look for a new weapon with which to attack
Do I turn on them and shout?
Raise my voice and let it out?
So they can look at me in innocent glee
And claim they are the friends they pretended to be?
How can I stomach such blatant lies
Why can’t I just sever these phony ties?
Where is the answer to end all this woe?
I look within, but my heart doesn’t know.
So I turn to the heavens with a sorrowful plea
And the peace of the angels embraces me
And drags me into the oblivion of peace
And in that final breath, I feel my pain cease.
